Training that opens doors: the KEYTER Group Foundation provides electrical training to people in prison at Córdoba Penitentiary Centre

At the KEYTER Group Foundation, we believe that training can change lives. That is why, for the past several months, we have been running a technical training programme in electricity and electrical panel assembly at Córdoba Penitentiary Centre, aimed at people in prison who are seeking a fresh start through employment.

The project, entirely developed and managed by the Foundation, combines theoretical training with a strong practical component: participants work with real electrical components and panels, acquiring skills that can be directly applied in the workplace. To design the programme and provide its technical content, the Foundation draws on the industrial expertise of INTARCON, a KEYTER Group company specialising in industrial refrigeration.

The Foundation’s trainers are responsible for delivering the technical and practical aspects of the training within the penitentiary centre. Since the programme was launched, more than 30 inmates have taken part, and two of them have already taken a decisive step forward: entering the workforce.

“We believe that training can change lives. Behind every electrical panel, every tool and every hour of training, there is something far more important: a person developing skills, rebuilding their confidence and creating a new opportunity for themselves,” explains Francisco López, Director of the KEYTER Group Foundation.

Through this project, the KEYTER Group Foundation connects the Group’s industrial expertise with a specific social need: providing training, developing skills and creating real employment opportunities for people in particularly vulnerable situations.
